Liguria is a region overlooking the sea, almost surrounded by mountains and with a luxurious vegetation. Its origines are very ancient, it preserves paleolitics remains, such as the Toirano Grotte, located on the western riviera. In recent times Ligura has been home for many poets, such as Byron and Shelley who died in the Gulf of La Spezia, that’s why is commonly known as The Poets Gulf. Portovenere is a charming village made of coloured houses one clinging to the other overlooking the beautiful sea. Dominated by the sixteenth-century Castle and the Church of Saint Peter. Nearby, La Spezia with its lovely gardens along the sea promenade. Portofino, Portus Delfini mentioned by Plinio, a millenary village that today has become a destination chose by the international jet sets. Some elegant beach resorts, in Rapallo, for instance, or Santa Margherita, Camogli and Alassio, just to mention a few. Cinque Terre with its uncontaminated nature, formed by 5 ancient villages embedded in the cliff above the sea. Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia with amazing scenaries and routs such as the Via dell’Amore to be explored only by walk, from Manarola to Riomaggiore. San Remo, where the famous Music Festival is held and its floriculture. Ventimiglia located between Liguria and French Provence. Savona with the imposing Priamar Fortess where Giuseppe Mazzini was confined. Imperia and finally Genova, the capital of Liguria which boasts elegant palaces and nobiliar villas. As Francesco Petrarca defined it, “The Lady of the Sea”. The geografic nature of Liguria, between the sea and the mountains, is present in the cusine as well. With recipies such as pesto souce with trenette, superb olive oil, anchovies and typical sweets and wine.

Amalfi: arte, storia, natura e tradizioni

As soon as the visitor gets to Amalfi is perfectly aware of the important role that the sea has played in the history of the city, and that still persists. This is demonstrated by the fact that its port is in correspondence of the city center. From the port, through small streets you can reach the heart of Amalfi where the Duomo is located. It was dedicated to Saint Andrew and its foundations dated back the tenth century. There is a large and impressive stair that leads to the structure which faces the Saint Andrew Square. Over the centuries the Duomo suffered so many rearrangements that the internal decorations date back to the eighteenth century, while the sumptuous bronze doors are genuine. From the Duomo you can access to the Basilica of the Holy Crucifix which was built in the sixth century on an early Christian temple. Today the remains of the temple have been brought to light infact you can admire the columns that in the past supported the central nave. From here you can reach the Saint Andrew’s Crypt which contains his remains arrived from Patrasso during the 4th Crusade. Continuing the path there is the Cloister of Paradise, an enchanting arabian construction of the thirteenth century. Finally, it is worth visiting the ancient arsenal of the Republic of Amalfi which is the only surviving example of medieval shipyard. The Museum is located in the Flavio Gioia Square along the sea promenade of Amalfi from where can be seen distinctly the Tower of San Francesco built in order to defend the city from the pirate raids.

Once known as Latium, Lazio is known by tourists as the region of Rome, but there is much, much more to Lazio than just Rome! Mountains, beaches, Renaissance papal villas, wineries, Etruscan ruins, health spas e secluded Franciscan hermitages, this Region has everything you’ve been looking for. Start with a day in the Castelli Romani, right on Rome’s doorstep – you can absorb 2000 years of history without staying in the city. Just south of there, on the way to Naples, is the world-class spa town of Fiuggi, surrounded by a host of picturesque hill towns like the one featured in the movie For Rosanne. Or head east to Rieti, where you can visit the tiny monasteries St. Francis built, birthplace of the nativity scene and the Christmas tree. You can even sleep at a couple of them, if you like, or try some skiing in the beautiful mountains that loom overhead.
North of the city, within an hour’s easy drive from Fiumicino Airport (also called Leonardo da Vinci), is the former homeland of the mysterious Etruscans, with their delightfully painted underground tombs, and their stone tumuli, usually located in idyllic forests or deserted valleys. No matter whether you go north or south along the Latium coast, you will find wonderful sandy beaches and rocky coves for all tastes, delightful resort towns like Capalbio and San Felice Circeo, Grecian fishing villages like Sperlonga, or ancient strongholds like Gaeta.

Monti, spiagge, palazzi papali rinascimentali, enoteche, rovine estrusche, terme e solitari eremi francescani.

In Umbria you learn to know the meaning of beauty. Umbria is the heart of Italy, but not simply for its geographical position. The region’s wealth of natural and artistic wonders seems almost inexhaustible. Travelling the roads of Umbria is a journey full of surprises, continuously suspended between the signs of a well-preserved past and a vocation for the future that is entirely new, bringing to light a region that is live and exquisitely beautiful. Umbria today, reinventing itself fashionable but without overdoing it, has much to offer visitors: sport, culture, museums, epicurean delights, healing waters, and musical events of international renown.
At the end of the journey, one thing is certain: Umbria has a true vocation for beauty.

The “Piccolo Museo San Paolo” was created in the 1970s by Monsignor Francesco Gangemi, parist priest of the parish of San Paolo della Rotonda. A cultured priest, collector of fine art, author of publications, theatre texts and scholar in ancient Greek and Latin.
Transformed into a foundation with official recognition in 1984, his collection today is housed in buildings opposite the church of San Paolo and is waiting for a permanent home. The works exhibited, which represent great historical and artistic importance, have been gathered together over sixty years by Francesco Gangemi himself, with great love for art and extraordinary tenacity in his search. The collection, increased over the years thanks to donated works, is extremely diverse both for the artists, not only Calabrian and Southern Italian, but also for the styles exhibited in which you can find: Icons, Silver, Sculpture, Ivory and Paintings.

We would like to introduce you to the charm of the “Veneto: from the earth to the sky” and the excellence of this territory, the most welcoming region in Italy and the first in terms of tourism.
Art cities, sea, mountains, parks, lakes and spas may be enough for a dream vacation … but this region also has other surprises to be discovered.
For example, there are five places in the Veneto region that have won prestigious acknowledgement from UNESCO and are included in the list of the World Heritage Sites. These include Venice and its lagoon, Verona, the Botanical Gardens of Padua, Vicenza, the Palladian Villas of the Veneto and the Dolomites. The Dolomites were the last to receive acknowledgement on June 26th 2009.
There are other “gems of beauty” to be found in this region such as our fairy-tale like scenery, rolling hills, history and tradition, churches, fortified villages, frescoed palaces, villas, piazzas and arcades, and a countless number of pieces of art that are waiting for you to discover them.

In the middle of the uncontaminated, green valley of the Tammaro river surrounded by the Matese mountains, Sepino is also a repository of thousands of years of glory, which make it a perfect destination for the lovers of nature and history. Its history is connected to that of the Matese mountain and the wealth of waters, still used today for the Sepinia mineral water and spa treatment, and in the vicinity one of the best preserved dinosaurs in Europe was found.

Fortezze in Valle d'Aosta

The Valdostane castles confirm a particularly wealthy feudal history that offers a steady flow of picturesque history: medieval buildings were often built and raised on previous highland fortresses from Roman times; military bulwarks and noble residences, points of control along the compulsory passes (Bard Fortress and Fénis Castle are renowned), perimeters and facades with different styles, the weaponry of the visitable interiors, as well as the cultural interests, to impress you in a magical atmosphere, almost like “doors back in time” or… dimensional passages into your imagination.

Tears of lava, limestone plains swept by the wind, sunny lands the colour of bronze: one by one the islands decorate the Sicilian coast like a string of pearls on the neck of a beautiful woman.
The uncontested mistresses of the sea and its secrets, Levanzo, Favignana, and Marettimo, form the archipelago of the Egadi in the sea off Trapani. Here nature still dictates. Its rhythms, and travellers can let themselves be enchanted by the magic spell of the fishermen and farmers who inhabit these isles, the last custodians of the ancient Mediterranean traditions.
